I've always loved writing. When I was younger, I had 2 blogs - one called Mostly Desserts, where I would look through my parents' recipe cards, make their dessert & try to write up a long story about it like all the recipe websites do out there. My other blog was called A Tweens Choice. I was 12, and I couldn't wait to be a teen. My step mother told me that I was in between a kid and a teen... so, a Tween. I reviewed products for two years. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to continue it as I started high school, and thus my blog writing career had ended.
Fortunately, I now have a platform to express my opinions and share scientific information about a passion that many of us have, nutrition. As a weight-neutral dietitian and anti-diet dietitian, the goal of my blog is to share, but also to decrease weight stigma and diet culture. There are so many articles about how to lose weight, "detox" yourself and look "your best for summer". We need more articles that talk about how to care for and respect yourself and others, how to increase healthy habits regardless of weight, and how to listen to your body instead of listening to exterior forces.
Of course, I also love speaking about sports nutrition, and have a lot to share about chronic disease management and digestive management, so I'll likely be writing about these topics as well!
I'm very excited to start writing again - my 12 year old self would be THRILLED right now.
